The holiday shopping season is here! If you’re already dreading finding the perfect toy for a kid in your life, have no fear, we’re here to help. These top ticket toys will become more and more difficult to find as the weeks tick by. If you never had any idea what the popular toys were in the first place, it can be infuriating to find yourself in a pinch when you’re shopping for a hot ticket toy well after their supply has run out. So here’s a look at the must-have toys of 2018 so that you can snag one before the stores run out!

  1. L.O.L. Dolls BIGGER Suitcase
Last year this toy was a hot ticket. The $60 item was found for as much as $600 on eBay in the days leading up to Christmas, and this year the toy maker is hoping to hit it big again. If you’re unfamiliar with LOL dolls, they’re tiny plastic dolls that come in a plastic ball. The idea is that whatever is inside is a surprise. While you can buy a single doll ball at a time, this suitcase is packed with more than 60 surprises. Expect to spend about $80 retail if you can get your hands on one of these.
  2. WowWee Finger Hugs
These are a little bit of adorable right here! These soft stuffed toys wrap around a child’s wrist or finger as if it were giving a hug. This is an improvement on last year’s smaller “Fingerling” version. The animatronic monkeys interact with noises and movements as you hug them.
  3. Hatchimals
They’re back! Looks like 2019 is a redo of 2018, with the top three toys being almost identical to last year’s top picks. But this year, the Hatchimal has something new to offer. This year you can have a tiny electronic baby Hatchimal to add to your growing collection. The only new feature is the size, though.
  4. Let’s Dance Elmo
Remember Tickle Me Elmo? Well, Playskool is at it again with Let’s Dance Elmo. This is expected to be a must-have item for youngsters who are just learning to move. It will feature catchy music in three songs. Elmo will instruct toddlers to dance along as he sings about animals, colors, and shapes.
  5. Hogwarts Castle by Lego
We’re not entirely sure if this one is meant for kids or their parents, but the Wizarding World of Harry Potter is making the cut for must-have toys this year. Lego has presented an intricate set that will recreate the Hogwarts castle in 878 pieces. You’ll also find a moveable staircase and 10 mini figures direct from the books. For the complete gift, add the $100 coder’s wand. The kit allows users to code, leading to giving magical commands that will have things floating and flying around the house (on the TV, of course).
  6. Don’t Step in It Game – Unicorn Edition
Built for ages four and up, this game is exactly what it sounds like. Players move around a game board trying not to land in a pile of glittery, rainbow-colored Unicorn poo. Maybe a bit gross for some, but kids are clamoring for it!
  7. LittleBits Avenger’s Hero Inventor Kit
This one might break the bank, but it’s really cool. Priced at $150 retail, the kit interfaces with an app to build and receive hero level training directly from the Avengers. This is a great learning toy to get slightly older kids into STEM learning.
  8. Nerf Rival Prometheus Kit
Another big-ticket item, this $200 Nerf gun fires up to eight rounds per second! It holds up to 200 Nerf balls which adds up to nearly 30 seconds of high-intensity Nerf-fire! It comes with a rechargeable battery, a trigger lock, and shoulder strap.
  9. Paw Patrol Ultimate Rescue Fire Truck
For the little man in your life, we present this pawsome gift! Complete with lights, sounds, and a full 2-foot extension ladder, you’ll help Chase and his friends save the day! There is even an extendable arm to help rescue lost pets that may be stuck in a tree.
  10. Hot Wheels Corkscrew Crash Track Set
Hot Wheels are always a great item, but this set is downright cool. Priced under $50, the triple loop set features a corkscrew and three-speed settings. Boys aged 5-12 will love watching the cars slam into each other at high speeds!

Of course, you don’t have to give gifts to have a great holiday season. We believe in the quality and love that goes into handmade gifts, too. We’d love to hear about the best gift you ever received, be it a hot toy or a warm hug. Share it with us on social media!
