Gifts for your Surrogate this Holiday Season

We at Family Inceptions are always in a giving mood, especially when it comes to those remarkable women who serve as Gestational Carriers. They give intended parents the ultimate gift of life. While you may never be able to give them anything close to what they have provided you, below are some of our suggestions to buy for your surrogate!

Homemade food or a gift basket: If you’re surrogate is local, dropping off some fresh baked cookies, pie or even your best lasagna dish is a personal, thoughtful present. If your surrogate isn’t as close as you would like, there are many gift baskets (fruit, cheese and meats, chocolates, etc.) that you can send her way to let her know you’re thinking of her.

Flowers: Yes, flowers. While it may be cliché, it’s easy to order and you can never go wrong with a bouquet of her favorite flower or even the flower of your child’s birth month! Add a note and/or a balloon to create an extra touch.

Gift Certificate: Do you know your surrogates favorite store? Or if she lives near a quality masseuse, there isn’t a woman alive who couldn’t use a good massage! It could be a gift card to Amazon or Target or even a favorite nearby restaurant for her to treat herself.

Spa day (or spa basket): Slippers, candles, bath salts, etc. Whether it’s in the comfort of her own home or at a luxurious spa in the hood, being pampered is a generous way to say happy holidays and thank you.

Comfy Pajamas: Be it silk, cotton, or flannel; who doesn’t like to feel comfy? Throw in a matching pair of slippers and she’ll have a whole outfit to sit by the Christmas tree in!

Jewelry: A bracelet or necklace is a beautiful way to commemorate what your surrogate has done for you. You can also have it inscribed with the intended due date, the date your child was born or your favorite quote to show your deepest appreciation.

The Pregnancy Basics: If your surrogate is currently pregnant, there are always Pregnancy pops, pregnancy diary, tea to ease morning sickness or even cocoa butter for her skin.

A handwritten note: Some of the most thoughtful things you can do come straight from your heart. Sitting down and putting your gratitude into works on a pretty piece of stationary is sometimes all you need to let your gestational carrier know how very much she means to you.

Do you have any of your own ideas or suggestions you’d like to share? Please feel free to comment as when it comes to both building families and showing love to one another, we want to hear from you!

My purpose is to help women who wish to become surrogates and egg donors and the hopeful parents who wish to partner with them. I feel very lucky to be living my purpose."
